Al-Masjid an-Nabawi or The Prophetic Mosque is an Islamic place of worship located in Medina, Saudi Arabia. It was the second mosque built by Prophet Muhammad in Medina, the last prophet of Islam, after Masjid Quba’a. Masjid an-Nabawi is one of the largest mosques in the world and is the second holiest site in Islam after the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca where the Kaaba is located. It’s construction dates back to 622 CE with Prophet Muhammad’s arrival in Medina.
